Dr. Z's TR Resume Workshop

Last semester, Dr Z gave a workshop on resumes that are specific to the TR field. I learned a lot about how to tailor my resume to our field and already made my own to apply for my internship this winter. I know many of you are in the process of finding an internship and thought I would share this helpful information!

The two biggest things I learned was to make the resume longer than a page (based on the information I wanted to include) and be specific in my description of my related experience. Here are some more tips.

Do's:
  • Related work experience (population - be specific {age, gender, diagnosis}, setting)
  • College education (major, type of degree) (Ours in the fall will be Recreation Management with an option in Therapeutic Recreation)
  • Professional involvement
Don't's:
  • High School involvement
  • salary history
